Detached

Nancy Rodriquez 1965 (Temple)

Detached
By Nancy Rodriquez

I am feeling detached from you,
and it is killing me inside,
as if all of the vile toxins you have proven are true,
you deemed me a liar and it is you who hide,
You have made me fear to love ever again,
though you are not worthy of another thought,
to love anyone else would not be worth any gain,
those feelings were spent and lost,
On you, Oh God, where was my head?
A man in a wheelchair has made high demands,
and has used me profusely, causing such dread,
Who knew such power one could hold in his hands?
I have loved you from my soul,
and you took it away in a firm grasp
running afar off to what would become your end?
I still have no clue if you are alive or dead,
I am detached.
