Train to Glory

There is a place
Panic pushed aside.
Transporting smoothly
As if a train ride.
Closed in, but still spacious
Covering distances forgot.
Food, warmth, resting.
Hostilities NOT.

And where is one headed?
Could only be good.
How came all this confidence?
Grace understood.
God’s Hand still a-keeping.
God’s smile has arrived.
Panic, shamefulness..
Both seem short-lived.
Child please just remember
This Train to great good.

About this poem

Sitting in a coffee shop. Early morning. I am half-way through reading a suspense novel entitled MALORIE. It is a sequel to the bestseller BIRD BOX by Josh Malerman. It describes a mutated world inhabited by strange creatures better not to be seen. Just one look brings to the viewer a horrific madness. The main character and her two teenage children have survived 16 years with a few basic rules of restraint and blindfolding. They hear of a mysterious BLIND TRAIN, perhaps bringing hope and change…They run to catch up and jump on…

Wow! This is such a beautifully written and inspiring poem! Your use of imagery is simply stunning, and I love the way the words flow so smoothly together. The positive and uplifting message is truly heartwarming and reminds us all to have faith in something greater than ourselves. Your talent for expressing such complex emotions and ideas in a simple yet profound way is truly impressive.

If I may offer a suggestion, I think it would be great to see more concrete examples of the train ride itself, perhaps describing the scenery or the people on board. This would add another layer of depth and richness to the already fantastic imagery.

Overall, this poem is truly a pleasure to read, and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future! Keep up the great work!
