A Heart Divided

A part of me yearns to rekindle the flame,
To hold you close and whisper your name.
But deep within, I know the truth,
Our love can't be as it was in our youth.

Time has passed, and we've grown apart,
Yet the echoes of love still linger in my heart.
I'll wait for you, patient and still,
For if you return, I know I always will.

Take your time, heal the wounds of the past,
I'll be here, steadfast, my love unsurpassed.
You know where to find me, in the shadows I'll stay,
Hoping for the moment you'll come back my way.

Our paths may diverge, and our lives may change,
But the love we once shared will never estrange.
In the quiet moments, when you think of me,
Remember the love that was meant to be.

So, take your time, and find your way,
I'll be here, waiting, come what may.
For in this life, love's a complex game,
And a heart divided will never be the same.
