Dark Descent

Allow my heart to be filled with hate.
To endeavor now this storm of anguish.
As to not share that same cruel fate.
Of the fire that burns before extinguished.

Short and right on the mark (in my opinion). I try to express some powerful emotions in as few words as possible; yet none of my work is quite as strong or concise as this piece of yours.

I realized today That I made a misspelling in the title that is now fixed. Just to clarify, the poem is by no means an advocation for holding onto negative emotions, but rather serves more as a warning for the type of behavior that can lead someone down a dark descent. I apologize for the confusion the previous title may have caused some of you.

The previous title was “Dark Decent” for those wondering lol, The mistake completely undermined the message of the poem.
