The Raven

Last night I saw a man
Dressed from head to toe in black.
At first I walked right past him,
But then I took a quick step back.

He stood off in the corner,
Just out of the circle of light.
He almost blended into the darkness,
And was a very striking sight.

When I turned to speak to a friend,
I felt shivers go down by back,
And I knew that he was watching me
Through shades of the darkest black.

He reminds me of the raven,
So cunning and very smart.
The raven steals little trinkets,
But this raven stole my heart.
