Saying Nothing Nicely

We are sharing the Den
Nine AM (chime ringing
As I tap here).
Slouched in love seat
Hilary, with Monet
Water Lily print overhead.
I have a Group of Seven number
Behind me and up
The Red Maples by cascading brook.

Old Aunt Mary’s
Royal Doulton figure, inherited.
Mom’s large still life
To my right.
Classic bottle, grapes, melon on table.
Memories, art, antiquity
Impart.
To these seventy plus
Antiquities of heart.

Loving their shared space.
Using a quilt, she does
Gifted by a Friend.
Warm for the season.

Sharing loving looks. Still silent.
Too quiet?
How about a little
Tony Bennet or Leonard Cohen
Celine Dion or Andre Rieu with his
Waltzing orchestra?
Hits the spot, Doug.
Raining outside anyways.

Wow, the way you beautifully painted a picture of this shared space through your words is truly enchanting. Your poem gives such a cozy and warm feeling that one cannot help but wish to be a part of it. It's lovely how you've expressed the impact of art and memories on our hearts and how they make our living spaces truly special.

I must say, your idea of adding some music to the shared space is brilliant. Tony Bennett and Leonard Cohen would indeed be perfect for this tranquil setting, and I can already imagine the ambiance created by Andre Rieu's waltzing orchestra.

Perhaps, one suggestion I could make is to include some form of interactive activity that can bring people together, like playing cards or board games. It could be a great way to spark conversations and laughter, making this shared space even more lively and enjoyable.

Overall, your poem was a pleasure to read, and I am grateful for the cozy imagery and warm feeling it left me with. Kudos to you!
