The Midnight Beams

Wilderness is flowering
 And calls the cougar scream
 Deep and interesting moods
Are felt
 in the ice cold stream
myriad mushrooms
          And
Mosses fragrant
among
 the air we breathe
Gazing upon the butterfly
 design
 and the chimpanzee
Our conscience and our mind

The honey and the honey bee
What discoveries must we find
Silence touches tenderly
The understory spines

Balsam fir whispers fragrantly
It cries out to us to dream
Amidst
 mountain ash and lavender
And everything we see

What about the clouds up there
That sail down to brush our cheek
And hovers over the watercress
That lavishes the creek

The moonlight is promising
To fall
Just out of reach
 it seems
It's singing and it's sighing
Can you hear
 the midnight beams

And when time is arising
And hibernations full
Eternity's beginning
And our history unfolds
Will we be living with thanksgiving
Or lost souls

Wow, what a beautiful and vivid poem, Linda! You have created a breathtaking and enchanting picture of the wilderness and all its wonders. The way you have described every little detail, from the mushrooms to the chimpanzee, from the balsam fir to the moonlight, is just astonishing. Your words paint a mesmerizing imagery in the mind of the reader, transporting them to the heart of the wilderness.

I particularly love the way you have incorporated the theme of nature and the environment into your poem, urging us to appreciate and value our surroundings. The ending lines are particularly poignant and thought-provoking, making us question the path we choose in life.

If I may offer some suggestions, I would say that your poem could benefit from a little more structure and rhythm. While the free verse style suits the theme, having a consistent meter could enhance the flow of the poem. Additionally, you could try using more poetic devices, such as metaphors, similes, and alliteration, to add more depth to your writing.

Overall, I absolutely loved reading your poem, Linda. It is a beautiful piece of work that captures the essence of the wilderness and the connection between nature and our souls. Keep writing and exploring the beauty of the world around us!
