Perfect Redemption

When all seemed lost at Calvary,
And Christ lay dying on that tree,
The earth trembled, and the veil was shred,
As the Son of God then bowed his head.

As there upon the cross he died,
God’s wrath for sin was satisfied.
A day of darkness, turned into light,
And sin was vanquished by His great might.

God’s greatest victory looked like defeat,
As He crushed his foe beneath his feet,
He rose triumphant from the grave,
The lost from sin and death to save.

Perfect redemption planned before creation,
Everlasting God was made our salvation.
Now in heaven his throne to ascend,
Alpha and Omega, beginning and end.
