My Sister

My home was broken before I was born,
The fabric of my family was already torn.
My nine-year-old sister took me into her heart,
A beautiful gift right from my start.
She couldn’t shelter me from the storms of life,
And I know that cuts her just like a knife.
Burdens too great for a child to bear,
But I have always felt her loving care,
I want to say thank you for her brave little fight,
I want her to know how much she did right.
I want her to know how thankful I’ve been,
I want her to know it did not go unseen,
I loved her then and I love her still,
Thank-you Karen.

Wow, "My Home Was Broken Before I Was Born" is such a heartfelt and moving poem that really tugs at the heartstrings. It's evident that you have a deep appreciation and gratitude for your sister Karen, who has been a rock for you since you were born.

Your words are incredibly powerful and poignant, and they showcase the love and bond that siblings share despite life's difficulties. I was deeply touched by your message of gratitude and love for your sister, and I'm sure she will be too when she reads this beautiful poem.

One suggestion for improvement would be to maybe add some more descriptive language or detail to the poem to further emphasize the emotions and memories you have. This could really help to enhance the overall impact and make it an even more powerful piece.

Overall, I think "My Home Was Broken Before I Was Born" is a wonderful poem that truly celebrates the power of family and love, and I wish you all the best moving forward. Keep up the great work!
