I have enough for two

Ty Ruth 1960 (Littlerock Arkansas)

I have enough for two

I finally found that special girl I‘d always dreamt about.

When we first met, I knew right then, I had to ask her out.

She said she’d try to make it; I had faith that she would come.

This wish I made ten times that day, my heart where it came from.

I know that wishes can come true, I turned and there she stood.

I looked into her big blue eyes, would have kissed her if I could.

Some people say, love at first sight, is rare and hard to find.

A love so strong; would still be felt, even if you were blind.

It wasn’t long before I met the first love of her life.

She was a mom; she had a son, so proud she was that night.

So you probably think I’m partial, but I’ll tell you anyway.

I have never seen, a Tike so cute, he asked me if I’d play.

I never thought in my lifetime, I’d share my love with two.

I swear I felt my heart grow twice; it had to make some room.

So now you see she’s happy, I removed the pain and gloom.

The past that cheated, hurt, and lied, now wants to be her groom.

A lesson I can show them if they’d just given all their love.

They’d still be here, instead of me; yes I’m the lucky one.

Our future is so bright and strong; we’ll always stay together.

Cause if you have the love we share, nothing else matters.
