If we must part

Ty Ruth 1960 (Littlerock Arkansas)

If we must part

I want to tell you from my heart,
if I am chosen and we must part.

Only a call from up above
could ever separate our love.

The love we have, so rare and true,
I’ll always be right here with you.

Just think of me, all that we share,
our hearts still one, you’ll feel me there.

I'll be there when you fall asleep,
I’ll hold you tight, you’ll dream of me.

I know each day that passes by,
your broken heart will mend in time.

I'll watch you and I’ll see you grow,
so proud I'll be, you'll see my glow.

So feel my love and soak it in,
I’m in the raindrops; I’m in the wind.

I am the breeze touching your face;
I’ll ride with you and keep you safe.

A journey that will have no end,
one day our lips shall meet again.

It’s then I’ll shout; you're home my love,
as thunder rumbles from above.
