My Masterpiece

Ty Ruth 1960 (Littlerock Arkansas)

My Masterpiece

Just like brush strokes on a canvas,
fields of flowers by Monet.

Standing in the Sistine Chapel,
Michelangelo was his name.

His sculptures, all like David,
quickly take your breath away.

You're mesmerized for hours;
you can't turn the other way.

Each step you take into the Louvre,
your heart grows as you sigh.

Picasso was the man who knew,
he'd bring tears to your eyes.

The masterpiece I love to see
and look at every day.

Is you my love and you're right here,
never very far away.
