Another Time

Michael Ullom 2004 (Fayetteville)

Another day has passed I fear,
Often not does it seem unclear;
The wind whistles to unknown change,
Like a flower with fathomed range;

Another dawn has just begun,
Yet life is ageless to the sun;
I wish to be a distant star,
Beauty so countless and afar;

Another noon confined to bed,
Echoing moons of fables said;
To be elegantly simple,
And pass through life without ripple;

Another eve portrays the sky,
But have you ever wondered why,
We exist in such a nuance,
Delivering man's pursuance?

Another gray lays claim tonight,
So muffled by poor human sight!
And ever since my fated birth,
I've lived, a fragment of the Earth.
