Sonnet I

Come dine with me fair daughter of the Nile,
And I will shew thee love thou hast not known.
Let us beckon companions for awhile,
And have our fill of pleasure at the throne.

Lie thou upon my breast my royal maid,
So shall I call the armor bearer nigh,
That he may grant us one sure accolade,
And wave a banner o’er cross-the-sky.

Kiss me my lady-love and hold me fast,
Drink thou the cup of heaven’s realm-divine,
And I will pledge my heart to thee at last
To conquer and to reign - as thou wert mine.

Cherished be the fate of our dear romance
As we are both united here perchance.
