It Is Easy To Forget

From discrimination to jealousy
To the miracles and discoveries
It can be easy to forget our penalty
A drifting marble into a voided complexity

Seemingly endless star
Could not care less
About man’s somehow ephemeral war

Age to age
Lava to ice
The meaning is deleted when we can’t even devise
A plan to save man
Salvation for our abomination

Whilst a puzzle of systems continues impossibly distant
In a few measly seconds we grew together, Uncooperatively coexistant
Timeline upon time alone
Fading star upon dense black hole

It can be easy to forget
While caught up in money
In love
In our fleeting days
How small we are
How petty we are
How big of a deal we’ve created
On this heating rock of hatred

How in this short time
Has our end and demise
Become as foolish as a few mindgames, murders, and gases
We will destroy the earth before the universe can catch it.

About this poem

This poem expresses man's inevitable fate- that we are so wrapped up within our social, life, financial, etc. issues that we forget to recognize that what we are fighting for will be unfightable when there is no world left to fight on.
