I have many faces

I'm a man of many faces,
a different mask each day.
While I'm jovial the surface,
beneath I stay the same.

Sometimes I smile, sometimes I frown;
I'll still be bright and chic.
But deep below I'm always down;
I'm sullen, dull and bleak.

And if I sport a regal crown,
it matters not to me.
I'll be a jester and a clown,
no matter what you see.

While outside I'm shining bright,
inside I scowl and sneer.
And though my eyes might gleam with light,
beneath they're dark with drear.

I'm a man of many faces,
I don a mask each day.
No matter what's on the surface,
I'll always be insane...

'Cause my appearance won't change my brain...

About this poem

We wear a mask whether we no it or not, but how we look on the outside doesn't change how we are on the inside.
