Everpresent

Forever does unchanging love remain,
upholding grace and freedom in its wings,
I lonely and abandoned may appear,
empty of higher purpose or design,
in ignorance and isolation steer
dark images of suffering and fear.
Thus, unmet needs, desires unfulfilled,
and longings melt in fog, then disappear.

While all this mortal picture
emerges with a stinging bite,
ready to overturn the wheel of life,
God lets me hear a whisper,
and stirs my depths as if with trumpet blowing,
that present and protecting
He stands by me,
and I am humbled and amazed
at the working of His mighty hand.

God present and protecting. Never release your grip on this reality and audacious confidence.
Remember faith is a gift of the Spirit. Galatians five. Can’t be mustered up by sweaty stiff-faced endeavour.

    Ronks,
God who is ever present woos us to be ever present. That often requires us as mortal beings to wrestle with God. Your poem speaks of both love and courage.
