The Slayer

I trod harshly on the dirt
A dark, raging spirit wandering
All patience is made innert
From mankind stupidly sauntering

My helmet conceals the hurt:
Profound want of non-existence.
Venom lands upon the Earth,
Trickling from my grimaced lips.

I succumb to baser impulses.
I am now the monster they've made.
The demons are brought to convulsions
At the edge of my righteous blade

I come forward, a mighty slayer,
And offer up my prayer.
I whisper words of endless hatred
Into my bloody, clenched fists.

The mask conceals the fear; it's
The want of being lonely.
Venom drips from my sneered lips,
And burns the ground below me.
I shake and throw a big fit;
Succumb to wretched feelings.
I unmask this face to friends,
And they shutter at the sight.
If I want to keep them,
I should keep it down inside.

My heart beats weak
In a fractured cage.
Those close will weep
When I unleash my rage.

Bring forth the slayer,
Unleash the hatred;
Whisper my prayer
Into my clenched fists.
I'm not worth the trouble.
When will they stop the struggle,
And leave me for the abyss?

I'm a contagion, just stay away -
Or you will catch my rage.
I'm not worth your labor, anyway.
I wish I could be tamed.
