Mockingbirds in Spring

Blaire Witch

The green-eyed child,
Thrust into the virgin spring,
Conceeds a smile,
As the high mockingbirds sing.

Innocent mind,
Not yet tainted by this Earth,
Will come to find
How the cosmos sees his worth.

And may he yet
Make the best of his short life.
And still, I bet,
He will have enjoyed his time.
