WARMTH OF YOUR FADING KISS

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I just fell on my face again
I just put my foot in my mouth with dog shit on my brand-new Air Jordans
winter is over yet I think I will head down south

I have my bottle of the cheapest wine
I have you on my love-swollen mind
I can not look at you without this sad expression on my face as if I was wasting both our time

You have seemed distant for awhile
you lost that glisten in your eyes and the crooked little smile
if you do not want to stay
I best advise you to leave it is no longer there the magic that I hid so well to have each other under our spell

It is now the next day
still, I do not have the slightest where you are you just disappeared like a shooting star in  the night's sky and all I have are those simple words I am sorry

I hope that my actions did not leave any type of scar
where are you I am waiting here once again to feel the warmth inside of your fading kiss
