A Beautiful Macabre

Why is everything in this life so unforgiving? Do you even know why you keep on living?
Do you have any reason to try? Or do you just want to lay there and die?
Have you ever felt so confused, that you can’t think of anything in this world to do?
To save your own life as you sit there and stare,
And watch the tragedy unfold, it’s as if you never cared,
With so much left to do and so much more to say,
Why is it that you still can’t think of a better way?
You just sit there and stare at a wall that’s so bare,
Thinking of a better time, wondering if you were there,
You remember the good, the bad and in between,
All those things that you said that you didn’t really mean,
And every time that you fought over any little thing,
All the scared faces your anger would bring,
And the shame that you felt for not compromising,
All the words you said knowing they would sting,
And the tears that followed, what were you expecting?
You tried so hard, and your intentions were good,
Even though nothing ever turned out as it should,
Still, you keep moving forward to give the next day a try,
You keep your shoulders tucked back and your head held up high,
And you keep looking forward because you know soon that you,
Will get through the rain and the foggy days too,
So, if there’s one thing to remember let it be this.
Keep your eyes on the prize, always stay positive and keep your head from mars,
Because if you shoot for the moon and you miss, you’ll still land amongst the stars.
