Crippled from Youth

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Darkness just surrounds me LORD
I don’t know where to turn
I have all your instructions
But maybe I’m slow to learn

Forgive my slowness Father
Because You know my heart
I will forever praise You
You gave me a new start

I thought I heard You say: Go!
But then I was mistaken
My guilt is gone forever washed
My sins on You You’ve taken

I only need the Spirit’s power
And not a lot of talking
To do the dew and come to You
I just want to start walking
