Autumn

Autumn Wind, good morning sunshine... Your crystal brilliance is too much for these awakening eyes, but please don't leave. I welcome your warmth softly caressing my face. So, gently kiss me with your tender rays and I will repay you with a thousand smiles...
I can now hear you tapping upon the windowpane as I watch you tickle the colorful leaves with your love, laughter, and song whilst you and the mighty oaks cavort in a ceremonial ritualistic dance.
I fondly recall, when I was a small boy, how you would run your fingers through my hair while we ran unchecked through the passing of seasons and out into the passages of time.
Life... was simple and so magical then. It just was!
I have sadly forgotten you over the years and the unabashed freedom of adolescence. I have learned how to work but somehow have forgotten how to play and now I am often chained down with ripened fears and grown-up struggles. I guess, just the consequences of playing life’s game. I too have been carrying a heavy burden, a hollow feeling, similar to a great loss, as if, I am missing something... Could or would it be us?
I now hear you singing my name, a distant but familiar carol, as if, you are pleading for me to come out and play.
So, Autumn Wind, I will join you today in celebratory youthful dance and we can sing yet again, the songs of a child's wonder and faith..."
