In My Eyes

I see that look in your eyes
the one that comes
everytime you stand in
front of the mirror

I know what your eyes see
and what your mind is saying

But oh how your beauty
shines from in and out of you
and radiates over every part of me

I wish you could see exactly
what my eyes see,
my heart feels
and what my soul treasures

You are the one I think about
the woman I desire

The one... who captured my soul
in my eyes you will always be
perfect and truly beautiful.

About this poem

I wrote this for all the women who struggle daily with how they look. For the men who love you, your imperfections mean nothing. You are the one he desires, to him you will always be "perfect and truly beautiful "

David Marchant

I've been writing poetry since I was in High School. My poems have been inspired by many things; nature, love, romance, grief and my own journey with PTSD. Three of my poems about PTSD have been published in a national magazine. One of my poems were used at lyrics for a hymn that was published in a local magazine and included in a choral music recording in Australia. Mostly I write poetry to help me cope with life. more…
