The Story Of My Life

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

The Story Of My Life

You’re the story of my life
My page begins with you
The face of my first phrase
Reveals your beauty true

Your eyes open up my heart
In every shade and hue
Your lips so soft speak grace
And make each day feel new

You’re the story of my life
Oh where were you before?
My world begins to breathe
Each step we take and more

I never knew what I was missing
Before you came around
The sum of all my years
And showers of my tears
Bloom flowers on new ground

Nothing seems the same
Ever since your light set me free
A magic exists now I see
Love makes a believer of me

You’re the story of my life
A book without an end
I’ll turn another page
When I call you my friend

You’re the story of my life
And when the day is through
I love you is the phrase
I’ll say goodnight to you.
