SCREAM

I scream.
It is loud and long
It is wretched and strong
It is dark and I am wracked with pain
No one comes running do my aid
Is it possible that no one heard
Or is that no one cares

I scream louder
My lungs burn with the strain
The room vibrates from the sound
I hear no footsteps approach
I hear no bang on the door

I scream again and again
My eyes darting to and fro
Then I see myself in the mirror
Hanging on my bedroom wall
I scream louder still but my mouth never opens
The screams are in my head
The pain is in my heart

My family does not know
My family cannot understand
They will not know
So I will scream inside until I am dead
