Moondust

Dust of the moon, gray and dry.
It lacks cohesion and so do I.
If there were wind,
the sands would scatter -
lost to space, its precious matter.
The moon is braced against a breeze
that never comes to its life of ease.
While here on Earth,
the bits of me
are scattered over thee.

About this poem

Some people give nearly all of themselves to those they love, in spite of opposition and adversity. Others avoid hardships, but end up giving so little of themselves to relationships and therefore getting so much less in return.
