Fall With Me

The leaves are brightest before they fall,
Their colors change with age.
To only live a year in all
Seems such a paltry wage.
But time is paid them evenly,
The same each generation.
Our seasons change erratically
Before the separation.
A wage uncertain,
Time unknown,
To each a different gift.
These human leaves are better grown
With others they can lift.
So turn your brightest,
Shine with me,
As leaves we'll pass our season.
And when it's time to fall from tree,
We'll know we had a reason.

About this poem

Our time on Earth is uncertain and the way our minds and bodies change with age can be uncertain too. Let's make the most of our short season by lifting others and being together.
