Desert Blooms

Desert Blooms

Shall I take a handful of stardust
Sprinkle them on the Morning Star?
Float like the moon, pale, anxiety-stricken
Face of the desert bloom.

Every thorny thought of His beloved’s
Pricking fresh wounds;
Torn tender petals, falling one-by-one,
From this fair Rose of Sharon.

The sandstorms and scorching summer’s sun
Should come,
Burn restless egos
Tan shrubby pretentions.

Even your eyes throbbed,
Streams of thick agony in Gethsemane,
Bloody tears
Melting rough edges.
Shreds of poignant memories
Shall not cling
To untidy cobwebs
Holding murky trees.

The devastated road we journeyed
Through the Valley of Baca,
Salty sighs, shattered tear drops
Shall find an answer.
Join the springs in the desert
Become dashing desert blooms.
