Life is a Choice

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Looking up and going down
Don’t seem to be in sync
But when you’re reaching for the sky
It causes you to think

How can you look around yourself?
And see your circumstance
Then come to this conclusion
Well, I must be here by chance

If by chance you got here
Then by chance you will be leaving
Never really knowing Life
And never once perceiving

Never understanding that
By God you have been made
And giving into all those thieves
That just want to get paid

They will get paid by God
It’s true; eternity in hell
But you don’t have to join them
If you’ll just choose to get well
