Impropriety

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Who still living these back to the future days,
Sheltered, isolated and dwelling in a cave.
Is stunned, shocked...
And left needing air to breathe.
With a doing to discover when told,
Corruption has been legalized.
With a license to buy it sold.
Granting impropriety,
A normal way of life to live.
As long as a testing of the word,
Is correctly spelled to pass.
On a given ethics test after being asked,
If one objects to theft, fraud or minor crimes?
Committed but not admitting guilt to feel.
And...
Depending on their answer,
They are awarded free meals...
Along with invitations for two to attend,
An open behind doors tour...
Of where the justices of the Supreme Court,
Decide whatever they choose to do.
Without hint or clue as to who or how,
The doing of their secret activities...
Are scrutinized.

'But...
Aren't they the 'law' to conduct.
And maintain order?'

No!
Everyone knows them to be above that!

'What about the keeping of integrity?'

Hey.
You passed the impropriety test.
What more do you expect?
A pretentious imitation of decency?
