A fool and his money

Hasan Johnson 1980 (Peoria Illinois)

A fool and his money shall soon depart and I no longer want to be a fool
Women and drugs
Alcohol and beer
Hell and jail I no longer fear
I’ve done it all I brag aloud
Talking to the mirror as if addressing a crowd
Brought shame to my family and grief to myself
Thought money could buy me happiness
Now I can’t afford my health
My days are long
I toss and turn all night
Sleep has left me for good as glasses try to help my sight
Prescribed pills for this and also taking pills for that
Work out every day and still fat
Obese and distraught
Depressed and alone
Mentally spiritually physically and financially poor
Don’t qualify for credit cards or a loan
Work and earn then spend away
Only a fool wouldn’t take his money and save
I pray one day my sins are forgiven and I know that day my curses will be lifted
I’ve learned to give
I’ve had to cry
Being a fool left me high and dry
But when you lose it all you can get it back again
But next time make sure God your friend
Because you can depend on Him again and again
Man gone let you down every single time
But God love sinners and fools alike
Heard it was never to late to change
This time I’ll tithe and give offerings
 I’ve learned my lesson
When the student becomes the master he has no more questions

Very interesting poem about how we treat money !
They say money is a root of all evil, certainly a good part of it

How you spend your money says a lot about who you are
It is better to give than receive
For in giving with the right motive will build you unseen riches !
