The man with the broken back.

He worked so hard and his back broke on that fateful day,
Such a tragedy to befall a toiling man more so on a Monday,
He could barely walk but he had to bear with all that pain,
Back at home he had mouths to feed so he didn't complain,
He was the bread winner and all the bills had to get paid,
With kids in school there was school fees that he had to pay,
They all told him to stay home but he held on till the last day,
With a broken back the man laid brick and worked till Friday,
This was a man with everything to lose had he missed a day,
Despite the pain his family got fed and they had a place to stay,
That is the pain that most men have to face at work every day,
Men bear with all the pain cause life chose it to be that way,
With broken bones and aching backs they fight till the last day,
They provide for their families and also get all the taxes paid,
So the man with a broken back never missed even a single day,
He understood that if he missed a day there'd be a price to pay.
