Take it slow.

Kennedy Mwangi 1998 (Nairobi)

Ooh love is dangerous this I know,
I fell in love before but I didn't know,
Only the good parts does it first show,
Then with time it all turns to a shit show,
When you're in love kindly take it slow,
but when you're in love it's never slow,
It feels like you're skiing down an icy slope,
Everything is nice and you enjoy the flow,
After a while it turns to a slippery slope,
It gets complicated and you lose all hope,
Walks by the beach you enjoy the shore,
Wondering where did all the love go,
If only you had learnt to take it slow,
Then you'd be holding hands as you go,
But haste eventually capsized the boat,
No more love but only a sad weary soul,
If only you took things just a bit slow.

About this poem

A lot of people rush to fall in love and run off to the sunset but all that haste makes the love to wither in a short time. If only they had learnt to take it slow.
