Stolen Happiness

It isn’t supposed to be like this.
The mind can be a tricky game,
Believing what it wants to believe.
So misleading in unfortunate ways.
What do we do when no words can be expressed?
Who do we turn to when there’s no one left?
Sometimes this mind spins as fast as the world.
Wanting to fall from the overwhelming dizziness.
I’m tired, but I have to keep on.
Where does someone go from here?
What if we are all just stuck and everything is for nothing?
All or nothing right?
What if my all is nothing.
What if I failed?
What a waste that would be.
Giving up used to not be an option,
Until it became one.
Out in the cold,
No warm touch of skin for comfort.
There’s nothing without lovely touch.
Where do people even belong anymore?
Maybe an image of love was made up,
And there’s no such thing.
What’s the point of love,
When there’s no one to love you in return?
Hug someone today,
You’ll never know when that will be no longer an option.
The sweet comfort of a warm embrace.
How I miss it so much.
When did this old world go cold?
Failing everywhere I put in effort.
What’s the point of trying anymore?
Give me one good reason.
The cold will freeze your heart,
Eventually getting used to it.
When did I get so far away that it’s past time to turn around?
Catching everyone else when they fell,
But who caught me?
The fall hurt.
It still hurts.
Does anyone care?
Can they hear my cries to get out?
A pretty painted smile will only get you so far.
At what point will that paint finish cracking?
Happiness can’t be found when there isn’t any to give.
Were we all misled?
Where is your happiness?
Was it stolen from you too?
