The Nomad

Evelyn Baruch 1935 (Chicago. IL)

Rhymed
He rises at dawn's first crack
and slings a knapsack on his back.
His wants are few, his needs not much,
A friend or two to keep in touch.
A cup of Joe, strong and black
And these self-same friends to watch his back.
He knows not what the day will hold,
And he doesn't much care, if truth be told.
