MY LIFE, MY TESTIMONY

Francis Boakye 1988 (Bodwesango in Ashanti Region)

Life! So unpredictable,
Full of mysteries even to the most affable.
One really can’t tell when
The clenched fist of life will push him into the den.

Do you still have life? Say a prayer.
Not by might, not the soothsayer,
But by the Mighty Hand of the Almighty
Even when our paths are so filthy.

Yes, your strength but remember,
Though strong, the first union was put asunder
Choices we make but for the unknown future.
Warriors always facing the danger.

My life, my very testimony
When life ripped me off my money
Slapped me in the face with shame
Brought me to my knees, so lame

Threatened me relentlessly with cuffs.
But a Mighty Hand saved me from those stuffs
And a Mighty Voice: enough is enough
Indeed my memory box, full of painful stuffs.
