The trick

The trick
By: Al-Sayed Hassan
Translated into English by:
Hassan Hegazy (Egypt)

I saw you standing proud,
the bow turned round above you head.
The crowd was spreading a rug
from the Persian blood.
The elder of them said:
Come on and move ahead.
He added: Let’s step over
 the disk of the Sun.
I overlapped, united inside you,
when I found myself,
I became you.
I proudly touched the head.
I touched the thread
which was leading to a door.
The door was made of alabaster,
But behind its blue curtain, its red curtain,
I saw the most skilled player,
moving me with his clever fingers,
hence, I should feel proud and content
Or the light disappears, and lose my kingdom.
