An eternal over-lasting kingdom

An eternal over-lasting kingdom
By : Al-Sayed Hassan
Translated into English:
Hassan Hegazy (Egypt)

When I am all alone,
Besieged   by my heavens,
a sky of nostalgia surprises me,
Sitting with me, comforting me,
Opening the cache of my memories,
Preparing childhood to me.
I run happily,
having fun with my childhood,
Launching me a star into the high skies,
alone in my orbit ,
I have my own time,
my own voice,
my feeling and my glory.
I have my own loyalties.
I belong to a homeland, formed from deep certainty,
Without night patrols searching in my imagination,
Without screens encouraging my delusion,
Without yellow newspapers scattering me
 in false letters,
Without police stations burying  my humming,
Without the voice of the crowd
to run madly over my voice
 or my free will,
Without language misinterpreting my silence,
Without the conspiracy clouds seducing me,
Without falsehood restricting my philosophies.
When I'm alone by myself,
my stars come back happily to me,
spending all night with me,
surrounding me, dialoguing with me,
igniting the hall of my nights
Coming back to me singing in her pure dreams,
foretelling the soul of the days about me,
writing in the conscience of the universe
that I asked God for an eternal kingdom
that will not perish.
So, poetry has come to be:
“My kingdom, my miracle
and my own tragedy.”
