Third World Everywhere

Third World Everywhere

Congratulations, now we know where we are, in the smoke and dust and empty shelves, life restarts
How could what has happened, actually be happening, seems so out of place, not in our backyards
Stores haphazardly stocked, plenty of items missing, appearing maybe, only to go missing once again
We ask ourselves, where is this kind of situation common place, where does this happen frequently

Underdeveloped, a two way street, twice experienced, the past and the future, sometimes a present
Empty shelves, high prices, signs of economic deserts, no longer just in other places, but right here
Taxes segregate, artificially inflated structures need continual inflation, accidental funding doesn't last
Insulating wealth consumes the mind, nurtures fake intelligence, we see poverty, our souls dwell in it

Covid speeds up time, melting away years, to show the consequences of our actions, immediately
What covid exposes, that's the future, it might go away, it will come back, from somewhere up the line
So what happened, where did we go or where did the times go, this new place of massive uncertainties
Borders got erased, community lines blurred, what happens other there, now happens everywhere
