Mortals

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

What fools these mortals be
To think there is a God really here.
To claim that salvation is fully free
To say in Heaven there is no sorrow or tear.

What fools these mortals be
To think that  Jesus died on the cross,
My only option was to plea
That my soul was really lost.

What fools these mortals be
Was there real meaning to life ?
I found out that Someone held the key
To all my worries and strife.

What fools these mortals be
To believe  that my sins were forgiven and gone,
No payment due to make me free
Only believe in the Son.

What fools these mortals be
That when my life is or, will live in eternity.
To live with Jesus is all I need,
He takes away my sin and depravity !

What fools these mortals be
When you know the die has been cast,
When life's testing's, they will flee
The final  journey will be the last.

What fools these mortals be
To have a faith as a mustard seed,
To greet the great I Am  for me to see,
To day He's my Savior and always meets my need !
