Memories

Jessica Millitello 1988 (United States)

Every thing about you I remember,
Even after all these years.
I still dream about you often,
And when i do i wake up in tears.
So many things i have left to say,
Even though i speak to you all the time.
I never get an answer back,
And i can't help but wonder if I'm losing my mind.
Sometimes i will smell something,
And it triggers a memory.
I look around expecting to see you,
Then i remember you're no longer with me. Your favorite song will come on,
And then i have to play it again.
I have never missed anyone as much,
As i do my lost friends.
Sometimes I wish I could join you,
Just to be with you again somehow.
But that is not meant to be,
And I am forced to live without you now.
I would never trade those years for anything, You brought me such joy and happiness.
Even though my days are filled with regret,
It was still worth feeling all this sadness.
I hope and pray you're up there
Smiling down on me.
Thank you my friend for giving me
All of the wonderful memories.
