Lost

Jessica Millitello 1988 (United States)

Drifting away in a sea of sadness,
Lost and alone in my madness.
Farther and farther away from reality
Leaving behind all that mattered to me..
Seeking sanctuary within my own mind,,
Going to leave all my worries behind.
The overwhelming stress broke me down,
My sanity snapped and turned around.
I stare at the ceiling, no longer wondering why,
I've accepted that happiness was a lie.
I understand now it wasn't meant to happen,
And I was chasing what couldn't have been.
I have found peace now that I am here,
And never again will I allow myself to care.
I have no more tears left in me to give,
No more willpower to try and live.
I'm trapped in a world that is broken,
And now, I have no words left to be spoken.
