If I flew through space would you see me?

SelcouthEgo 2003 (United States)

My beloved,
I wonder if you ever think of me
in our times of solitude. In those moments
of the night when you wake up, Do you find me there as comfort?
I write as someone who has never been in love
yet knows everything about it. I want to share my concerns with you.
I want you to know that if anything ever happens
I will be ready for your call.

My beloved
I write as someone who is anyone but myself
though we share the same qualities. Would you love them
the way I love you? If I was a shooting star drifting
through space would you spend your precious time to recognize me? For if I was helpless and misunderstood
would you spend the day trying to solve the mystery of me like a Rubik's cube?
I ask all these questions as someone who royally ruined us.
Yet still wants everything
to do with you.

About this poem

This was the first poem I ever wrote and still have a lot of sentimental value to it. It's a lover questioning his ex lover.
