Manufactured To Manifest

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Manufactured with intent,
To manifest ignorance.
Done and meant to prevent,
A process of growth...
Proving beneficial to all.
Is an act of allowed stupidity.
The many picked to sit,
In leadership positions...
Only to discover with welcomed hindsight.
After having no 'insight'.
Or common sense to use.
Told and made convinced,
That a being competent and decisive...
Are traits to expose and express.
And much more respected,
Than a grabbing to have power...
To get.
Then depend upon the expertise of those,
Labelled to be worthless.
Lazy and dumb.
Since fiction to worship,
And symbolize to idolize images.
Has historically depicted,
Their ethnicity that way!

'Even Shakespeare said it.
Hundreds of years ago.'

'I know.
Romeo? Romeo? Romeo...
Wherefore art thou, Romeo?
We need to get these boots knocked.
You feel me?'

'Uh...
I'm talking about,
WHAT FOOLS WE MORTALS BE!'

'Juliet did not say that.'

'I know.
Shakespeare said it.'

'But why would Shakespeare say,
What Iago tried to say to Othello?
And Romeo was the one,
I thought had been the Moor.
Disrespected because of his ethnicity!'

'And the people today,
Blame all their mess on the young folks!'

'You or no one else can stop these kids,
From ignoring their hormones.
And it's the boys and girls.
The girls calling from windows.
And the boys falling off rooftops,
Tree branches.
And jumping from moving cars.
Just to experience the budding of Spring!'

'So...
What does this have to do,
With being Republican or Democrat?
Voters rights.
And who is more justified,
To be entitled to decide...
The right to choose,
Their sexual preference?'

'You know what?'

'No what?'

'The more I listen to you,
The more I realize...
Accepting to be nuts is a better way to live,
Than arguing over...
What reality should be.
And why for many,
That reality to be is nowhere around.
To find it found on this Planet!'

'Remember this if nothing else.
A kept mouth closed,
Is a mind to find at peace.'

'Prove it!
