The Night That Changed It All

Last nite, I looked up into the winter sky
And wished that I could fly
I then saw them twinkle, I saw them shine
By heaven, the stars above looked divine

I left a sigh
I felt a shiver
The night was quite
The night was queer
The wind blowing to my face
Made me tremble, made me shake

My mind rushed back to the nite
When underneath this moonlight
You had stood besides my side
And we just held each other and cried
Your head on my shoulder right
All through that wintry nite

We talked about our thoughts that nite
We talked about our lives that nite
We talked about how things would change
We talked about how you would make things right
We promised each other our lives
We promised each other our fates
We wished that time could upon us wait
And we could be forever, every date
For the togetherness we did share
The coming of dawn was to tear

Today you are gone
Happily married and strong
I see the smile on your face
It hurts me somewhere somehow and I try hide it with grace
Time I know will make things fine
Things that you had promised
Things that you said, you will make right
Maybe I feel this way because your gone
But I shall await for my mornings dawn

I didn't expect, that you would leave this way
Didn't even dream, that I would see this day
All that I ever wanted
All that I ever asked
Was you to do just as you had promised
For you to do just what you had planned

Wherever you are, morning or night
I shall pray for you
And always wish you,
Good morning and good nite

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
