I Luv You, So I’m Letting You Go

Luv does happen, either at first sight
Or from a friendship growing slight
Should people ever say "I luv you"?
At what point, or never, as that hurts few
What if one says it and scares the other
Best to keep feelings hidden altogether
People can’t love each other equally
Sadly they also express it unequally
One is a little more ahead of the other
But over time love gets apart and further
It then unknowingly starts to hurt
How much are the two willing to exert?

Different from the scale of one to ten
It has its own levels of pain
Can’t sense there be more than three
That’s plenty, before one sets it free
First level could be of mere sadness
From other not loving you with madness
Not expressing enough to show their flame
But you hang in there to play the game
The next level is crying oneself to sleep
Maybe your expectations are more deep
Waking up each morning, hoping a fresh start
The other doesn’t do anything, for it to last
Finally, when it’s just too much to endure
Each thinking the others love was premature
Their hearts quickly start closing all doors
The weaker finds solace, ending life on floor

What about, when love is just one way
You love them, they don’t see that ray
They don’t display or won't ever feel and say
They both now know where they stand today
But one still walks down the dark lane
Hoping for flickers of light to soothe the pain
A giant snowball down a slicker slope
Growing heavy in size and in force
Hits you hard, enough to engulf you
Takes your breath away from inside you

But what the heck is love really?
Everyone has their suitable theory
It can be a painful pleasure
Life can feel empty without that treasure
Kill your feelings if you want to survive
Roll along and just try to enjoy the ride
Else end it, but at what point would you say
I love you, so I’m letting you go today

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
