Hope

Hope

Every morning hope and pray
That there'll be peace on earth someday
That all the nations open their eyes
To reveal the truth and not fill us with lies
To hear the cries of nature's call
To stop the famine and stop the war
There's a light spirit within us all
Just waiting for an open door
Love and kindness is what we need
For us as humans to succeed

About this poem

This was my first ever poem which I wrote in my early 20's, it came to me one night fully formed in my head just before I was going to sleep, I never wrote it down as it was late, to my surprise it was still there in my mind when I awoke the next morning.

I have wrote many poems over the years, poetry has helped me express what I could not express verbally, and has helped me grow inwardly. I have written poems on many different topics, some humorous stories in poetry form, and some deep meaningful and emotive ones, inspired by events, and from personal experiences and what I witness and observe that has moved me in some way. more…
