Summer Time

As I lay, I gazed upon each painting that passed me by
Captured all the tranquillity, and gave a grateful sigh
The clearest blue with it's white cotton like thread
of clouds moving slowly above my warm felt head

A flock of birds went soaring, once flapping wings now still
Gliding on the westerly winds, that would take them past the hill

The hill was covered in a mixture of greens, browns and greys
I looked around where I sat, I could see a warming haze
Leaves full of colour, on the branches of the trees
Flowers of all types, swaying softly in the breeze

Oh how I love the summer, all it's beauty, and it's smells
It takes away my sadness, and all my worries it dispels

Nicola Baxter

I have wrote many poems over the years, poetry has helped me express what I could not express verbally, and has helped me grow inwardly. I have written poems on many different topics, some humorous stories in poetry form, and some deep meaningful and emotive ones, inspired by events, and from personal experiences and what I witness and observe that has moved me in some way. more…
