Thorns of Love

As I contemplate this rose
I think of your beauty.
What a closeness
What a likeness
You have your thorns
As does everyone
But despite them
I hold you tighter
Blood dripping from my hands.

I really love this poem I can relate to it. I think I have some somewhere about roses and thorns.

A very good poem in my books. It could even be great but I have not learned to appreciate all the wonders of poetry yet. I do know that I like it a lot.
